Appointments:  Appointments last 50 or 80 minutes, depending on your needs.  If you need to cancel an appointment, I need to be notified at least 24 hours in advance to prevent billing you for the session.

Phone Calls:  If we check in by phone and the call goes longer than ten minutes, there will be a charge of $50 per half hour.

Payment for Service:  Clients are expected to pay for services at the time they are rendered.

Confidentiality:  In general, information disclosed within sessions is confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your permission.  The law provides for certain exceptional situations in which the therapist is required to disclose information: when there is reasonable suspicion of child abuse or elder or dependent adult abuse, or where the client presents danger of violence to an identifiable victim.  The law also allows the therapist to break confidence when a client presents danger of violence to others or is likely to harm him or herself unless protective measures are taken.  Disclosure may also be required in certain legal proceedings.

In an Emergency:  If you have a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911.

Grievance Process: If you have any questions or concerns about the services you receive, you are encouraged to discuss these issues with me directly.  If this does not resolve your concern, please feel free to contact the Board of Behavioral Sciences that governs the social sciences in California at www.bbs.ca.gov.

Fees for Counseling:  My fee for service is $135.00 per 50-minute session, or $180 for 80-minute sessions (usually needed for couples or family counseling, but not required) which may be paid in one or more of the following ways:

1.         Fees paid directly by you at the time of each scheduled session.  I accept cash and checks as well as the use of paypal.com, where your credit card may be used.  Paypal must be used prior to the session.   It is very easy to use...click on the link below and it will be self-explanatory.

2.         Health Insurance – A monthly “super bill” can be created so that you may submit to your insurance.    

 3.         A sliding scale is available based on your income.  Proof of income will need to be verified. 

 If there is a financial reason that you are not able to continue services, please feel free to discuss these issues with me, so that I can best accommodate you, and resume our therapeutic relationship.
